Not cleaning your range hood could lead to some very unpleasant smells!

Whether you work in a restaurant or frequently cook your own food at home, it is critical to keep your range hood clean. At the absolute least, it extends the life of the hood, and if left dirty, it can result in a slew of issues, such as foul smells.

Clogs of all kinds, such as debris, grease, and sludge can accumulate in a dirty range hood. A clogged machine does not perform as well as one that has been fully cleaned. Plus, all of the accumulated debris and grease can result in an unpleasant odour that can even cause various health issues in the long run.

Furthermore, if you have a ductless range hood, you are probably letting all of that dirt to escape back into the air when you run a dirty range hood. Not to mention, the contaminants attached to that oily sludge travel back into the air supply, posing a hazard to the environment.

Doesn't that sound revolting? It may also potentially pose a fire risk. Grease is combustible, so keep as little of it on hand as possible. It is also critical to keep your extractor hood clean on a regular basis, if for no other reason than to ensure optimum ventilation.

Of course, when we are busy, time slips by, and while we may think we just cleaned our range hoods very recently, it was actually months ago.

Did you know that a range hood is like a silent assassin in our kitchens? It is responsible for removing all the terrible steam, grease, and smoke produced when cooking. Furthermore, it eliminates unpleasant odour from the environment and improves its cleanliness.

However, if you don't keep it clean or maintained, its lifespan will be drastically reduced and all of the benefits it serves will backfire.

The Importance of Keeping Your Range Hood Clean

The grease that is extracted by the range hood accumulates in the filters of appliances over time. It clogs up when left unclean since the grease or debris is not let outside or transferred elsewhere. It goes without saying that neglecting maintenance will have an influence on the appliance's capacity to function, and it can also pose a fire threat.

Many new range hoods now include an alert mechanism that will notify you when the filter needs to be cleaned. If it runs on carbon filters, it will usually alert you when it is needed to be replaced. This isn't the case with older models; therefore, it is vital that you clear it out manually at least once a month. The more frequently you clean and maintain this part of the appliance, the longer it will last. It is also an investment worth making.

Kitchen exhaust fans pull polluted air through canopy filters to extract cooking vapour and steam. The air is removed from the building, but the impurities that remain are the reason for kitchen exhaust cleaning.

Your kitchen may appear clean, and you may be doing your best to keep it that way. At the same time, grease and oil build-up in kitchen exhaust systems is a fully natural occurrence. In other words, it will happen, regardless of how clean you try to keep it. It is impossible to avoid, but it can be managed appropriately.
